Stillbirth Legislative Efforts
- We are watching the various pieces of legislation that have been introduced into Congress as well as some that are appearing before state legislators. Our belief is that ANY piece of legislation that will impact stillbirth issues in a positive way is a good piece of legislation. Passing legislation on a state or national level takes great insight to how the process works and strong determination to encourage legislators to support the issues. Keep an eye on the ASAP Coalition website Advocacy Page for links to potential legislative issues.

Stillbirth Awareness Efforts
- In 2014 Sean and Kiley Hanish presented the world with RETURN TO ZERO, a dramatization of the experience of one couple experiencing a stillbirth and all of the complexities that follow.
- The STILL Project is being created as a documentary project to bring awareness to various individual stillbirth issues.
- Losing Layla is a documentary by Vanessa Gorman.
- October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. It became official when President Ronald Regan signed the proclamation in October 1988. Each October people and organizations throughout the world are encouraged to plan activities, events, trainings, publish articles, and more to bring awareness for the causes, prevention and support of bereaved families. October 15th is also Infant Loss Remembrance Day and the International Wave of Light. At 7 pm on October 15th everyone is encouraged to light candles for babies who died too soon. The goal is to create a wave of light that travels around the world in honor of our babies.
- *New movie, Sept 24, 2021 “The Starling.” Couple had a stillbirth and the movie deals with the emotions after the fact, especially dealing with the husband and wife’s grief.
- "Don't Talk About The Baby" A film that explores the culture of shame and silence surrounding pregnancy loss, stillbirth, and infertility through expert interviews and personal stories.
